There are those who are rich, those who are not and then there are those who experience the world

Long blog title; I know.

What an amazing few days.

Saturday was the day after which daddy-o got back from his flight from India. We went to my uncle’s place for “lunch”. Lunch in this context is one that starts at 2:00pm and extends until around 6:30pm.
What we went out for is not the slightest bit significant in this blog however. What really matters is the trip home.

You see, my dad, the weekend before he left, had an incident in our people mover where he somehow smashed into another car leaving them with a small dint and our car with a nasty broken headlight and decapitation of the front bumper bar. How such an incident occurs probably has something to do with our family’s habit of experiencing the improbabilities of the world.

Back to the story. We were driving home and the car started moaning. We were pretty close, but then it started to die. We decided to park it and the whole family walked home. In the dark. In the rain. Without my shoes on.

Today, as I was walking to catch my bus, I stepped aside to dodge a soon to come cyclist. However the cyclist decided to swerve within 2cm of the front of my body before amazingly missing me completely. Not even ten steps after the incident, an elderly man offered me a book from a pile in his hand titled “Survivor”. I know for a fact that this man had no idea what had just happened and can conclusively say he had no relation to the man that almost knocked me out.

I think I live with an improbability drive, like in “The Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”.

Bizzarity;

  1. CLU you are amazing. I love the way you write. I often have to read it twice to get the full meanings into my head, but I love the way you challenge me. xxck
