I am exhausted.
We ventured back to Freycinet National Park this morning for our walk. The plan was to walk up to Wine Glass Bay lookout and then walk onward to Wine Glass Bay for a swim for a bit before returning; total walking estimated 3 hours return.
However after reaching the lookout point (a decent walk up hill) we decided that Wine Glass bay looked a lot like Friendly beaches with worse waves. So after a few photos we descended back down. Return trip at this point 1.25 hours.
When Max, Dad and I arrived to the car-park, it was to discover that Lauchlan was not with Craig as expected. They had run ahead. No-one knew where Lauchlan was. Meanwhile, Lauchy had lost the path to the car-park down from the lookout.
Dad and Craig proceeded up once more to find him. Lauchy was asking directions to the car-park. Craig came back down to tell us they couldn’t find Lauchy at the lookout and that Dad was going to see if Lauchy had gone down to Wine Glass Bay not knowing our change of plans. Lauchy’s helpers whom he had asked directions were feeding and hydrating him and they tried to call us (although Lauchlan had given the wrong number and we had no reception). Dad found him no long after this. Everyone was back in the car after 3 hours and 15 minutes. After this ordeal, we all had a rest after lunch and then headed back to the beach near camp. We headed to a rock pook for some jumping. Then dinner and some writing.
We’re heading off tomorrow. Hobart next! Hopefully we keep up our streak of luck and finding a campsite. Lauchy is insisting on staring at a Big 4, I however am pretty sweet anywhere so long as I can have a proper wash. New Years ever tomorrow. Almost goodbye 2010!
